Friday Finds ☆ Turkuaz Turkish Restaurant Jakarta

Turkuaz is a Turkish restaurant in Jakarta. One of the owners and chief chef from Turkey at Turkuaz used to work for Anatolia in Kemang for a long time. He left Anatolia and opened Turkuaz. My friend wanted some Mediterranean food, so I thought of Anatolia and the new Turkish restaurant, Turkuaz, my friend told me about. As I am always up for trying a place I have not gone before (which can be tricky sometimes), I decided to take my friend to Turkuaz. We both were happy with our decision and what we ordered and came out of Turkuaz very satisfied. Main course ranged from Rp. 50,000 – 90,000 for vegetarian up to Rp. 110,000 – Rp. 200,000+ for a plate with meat. Parsley, tomato and couscous salad (like tabouli) we ordered was about Rp. 45,000 (US$5). Our lunch turned out about Rp. 200,000 (US$22) per person.

When I was looking for the location of Turkuaz online to list it on my blog (my friend gave me directions on the day I went there), I stumbled upon a blog post on jakarta 100 bars which I have encountered before when I was searching for another restaurant in Jakarta. I like this blog because of the photos and personal reviews. His reviews are very helpful. This time I was quite surprised to see that the angles of the photos on jakarta 100 bars and the three of the photos I took are very similar. His photos were taken before mine, so my photos look like I copied his, but I had not seen the photos on jakarta 100 bars until after I have already taken my photos at Turkuaz and I did not copy his angles! I swear!

I love the lanterns!! I saw something very similar in Thailand where we were over the summer (although it wasn’t even a middle eastern restaurant), and I took some pictures, which didn’t turn good… they are simply lovely. I would love to buy one if I ever get the chance!!

Hi Kaho! I think your photos are very professional.

Seems Jakarta has everything. I’m so happy you are still discovering new places. haven’t been around blogworld much. Life has been busy with work, just work. I get home exhausted that I literally crash on the sofa! I still haven’t found the rhythm at work, (i’m always behind on paperwork, I’m hoping in a few months, that will change) I’m not complaining because it’s good to have a job, I’m grateful, but you know, once you feel comfortable about your current status, then you begin to complain (It’s difficult, so I’m biting my tongue)LOL

Thank you~!! You’re so nice! You don’t sound complaining at all to me. No worries. I would be exhausted if I worked and still took care of family at the same time. I’m sorry I haven’t been around on your blog. I subscribe your blog, so I do see your posts on email though. I need to come visit you and leave comments! Thanks for coming to visit me!!
