Silver Diner & Flea Market at Eastern Market

How was your weekend? Ours was great. Busy. Those flowers in above pictures were purchased at the flea market in Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. (which I will talk about later) by my husband and girls and given to me for Mother’s Day. They add an uplifting colors to our living room and the fragrance of the flowers remind me of the fabulous day I had with them. This year Mother’s Day and my husband’s birthday both fell on the same day. I felt sorry for my husband since I wanted his birthday to be the only focus on the very day, but the world around us was all about Mother’s Day. We went to a diner for a birthday celebratory breakfast in the morning and then headed to a flea market at Eastern Market for a Mother’s Day afternoon. As you might already know from this post about Brooklyn […]

Clemyjontri Park in McLean Virginia

This is Clemyjontri Park aka Clemy. My friends’ kids call Clemyjontri Park a rainbow Park. It is located in McLean, Virginia. Clemyjontri Park is a park built for children with and without disabilities and all the areas of the park is wheelchair-accessible. The size of the playground is said to be 10 times bigger than regular playgrounds in Fairfax County. Clemyjontri Park has four sections and they are centered around the carousel which opens during spring and summer time. It is a children’s wonderland. How wonderful is it that children with and without disabilities can play side by side at Clemyjontri Park. The story behind is also very touching to me. Mrs. Adele Lebowitz, the widow of Mr. Lebowitz, the founder and owner of Morton’s Department Store in Washington, D.C., donated the land to the Fairfax County instead of selling the land to developers. The name of the park Clemyjontri […]

Sushi + Target = Happy Me

We went to Sushi Yoshi for happy hour dinner tonight. It’s our favorite sushi restaurant in the D.C. metropolitan area. The factors for deciding our favorite sushi restaurant are fresh fish, kids friendly atmosphere, prices and proximity. This restaurant is located in Vienna, VA, which is about 15 to 20-minute drive from us without traffic. The happy hour prices are very inexpensive, but again we ordered so much that the bill ended up being more than I anticipated. It was well worth spending the money though. 101 Church St. NW Vienna, VA 22180 703-242-1350 Lunch: Sunday, Tuesday – Saturday, 11:30 am – 2:15 pm Dinner: Sunday – Thursday, 5:00 pm – 9:15 pm Friday & Saturday, 5:00 pm – 9:45 pm Closed for lunch on Monday Reservations: 703-242-1350 I’ve got to eat “ikura”, salmon roe, which is my favorite. As you can see, four of us licked the plate. I […]
