Kala Ghoda Cafe is a chic nordic design cafe with western cafe food located in the artsy area of South Mumbai called Kala Ghoda. It is my most recent favorite in town. I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to try this cafe. I did try to get seated two other times in the past, though. My first time was a year ago in 2015, but the wait outside of the cafe was long that my friends and I went to The Pantry instead which is right around the corner. It is also very good.
I love Kala Ghoda Cafe for its rustic modern industrial design, delicious food, and very good pricing. I find that it is not easy to find restaurants that offer both great food and low prices in Mumbai. It makes me happy to be there. The atmosphere there reminds me of a small cafe in Japan somewhere in Tokyo, but with much reasonable prices.
I have gone to Kala Ghoda Cafe twice within a couple of weeks with different friends from Japan and both times, my friends absolutely loved the pumpkin apple soup. I tried it once and I also fell in love with the delicious pumpkin apple soup which you do taste a slight flavor of apple. It is a delightful surprise. This soup is definitely a must try at Kala Ghoda Cafe.
I wish Kala Ghoda Cafe was by my home. Then I would go there all the time!!

My recommendations are as follows.
Other recommendations I received from friends in the neighborhood.
Obataimu Hip fashionable clothing store with tailors called “takumi” (master in Japanese) working in the back inside the store.
Trishna Trishna is located across the street from Kala Ghoda Cafe. I hear that Trishna is the best seafood restaurant in town.
