Angkor Wat ☆ Angkor, Cambodia

My girl friends, Kara and Julie, and I went to visit Angkor Wat after our race was over. Julie ran a half marathon, Kara ran 10K and I ran 3K. You might be wondering why I went all the way to Siem Reap only to run 3K. The answer is because I was 25 weeks pregnant at the time of the race. I plan on writing about the Angkor Wat Half Marathon in the future.

The race finished at Angkor Wat, however, we had to get on a tuktuk to go to the ticket center which is located in a different area. You can either get a day pass or a pass for multiple days for all the sites at Angkor.

Three of us marveled the visit at Angkor Wat. The weather in December was absolutely beautiful. It was hot during the day if you are under the sun, but in the shades, it was breezy and comfortable.

There is no word to describe Angkor Wat.  You have to go there.  I was quite ecstatic to visit there. It is one of those places I have always dreamed about visiting since I learned about it in a middle school history class.

It was really fun to take photos of my friends.

Angkor Wat was vast. It is the biggest Hindu temple in the world. I was amazed by the scale and the beauty of it. I have never seen anything like it.

By the way, if this is your first post to read on my blog, I did not look like in the photo above because I had a big breakfast.  I was 25-week pregnant back in December, 2011.

I have one more historic site in Angkor to post which is Bayon. It was one of my favorite places in Angkor. Please
