Trying Out Snack From Indonesia

These above goodies are my random picks at a local supermarket in Jakarta. I don’t know if they all are originally created in Indonesia, but based on their prices, I figured they were manufactured locally in Indonesia. I apologize if my guess is incorrect.

All of them taste good, but I find it interesting that the pictures shown on the packaging did not necessarily match the actual appearances of the products. There are a few packages that I opened up and I had to take a look at the packaging again. Can you see why?

I tried everything as I was shooting their photos. It was fun, but I tried a little too much since I did not feel so good after photo taking. Kids, that’s why you should not eat too much sugary food at once.

Hi! I have to say – thank you so much for your comment on my photo blog – It really made my day! It’s not often that people actually scroll back through posts, so I am so appreciative that you took the time to do that, so thank you.
I’m cracking up that you tried all those snacks while you were taking photos! Research, right?! Buying local snacks is really interesting, I’m still getting used to the ones in Switzerland :) You are living in Texas now right?

Thank you so much for coming to visit me!! I actually live in Jakarta, Indonesia. Texas is where my husband is from, and where we lived for 2.5 years until 8 years ago. :)

    Hey Kaho,

I would highly recommend you try: Astor, Beng-beng, Kacang Telur Medan, and cassava chips! (The are so many good ones, but those are the ones that I could remember aka craving the most!)

the selamat cookie does resemble the photo on the package. I love how the chocolate chip says the “real chocolate chip”.

My favorite snack so far are vanilla wafer cookies with hazelnut spread in the middle, very similar to that first photo you posted.
